Cats shot on rural farm
Nicollet, MN (US)

Incident Date: Tuesday, Oct 7, 2008
County: Nicollet

Charges: Misdemeanor
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Loren Seys

A St. Peter man is charged with animal cruelty, accused of shooting cats on a rural Nicollet County farm. 60 year-old Loren Seys appeared in court Tuesday, and is facing a gross misdemeanor.

The Nicollet County Sheriff's Office alleges that Seys was shooting at cats in and around the farm site of Robert Penkaty on October 7th of last year.

Penkaty called authorities, and took one of the injured cats to the Nicollet County Vet Clinic. The cat had suffered three bullet wounds. A criminal complaint states that a vet from the clinic told authorities that Seys had asked about sick cats in the week leading up to the incident.
