Charges: Felony CTA Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Realius Trammell
Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Cory Newman won a felony conviction in a dogfighting-related case against a Detroit man built solely on circumstantial evidence.
Realius Trammell, 42, was convicted July 12, 2007 of possessing equipment for dogfighting.
When investigators raided Trammell's home on Hannah on Jan. 12, they seized bloody carpet, antibiotics, plywood boards and breeding magazines.
"His defense was that he was a breeder and that he was training them for weight-pulling competitions," Newman said.
The jury didn't buy it. On Aug. 16, Trammell was sentenced to 2 years of probation. References« MI State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Wayne County, MI
