County: Jefferson

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged:

A series of drug busts across Jefferson County lead narcotics agents to a major meth operation and a cockfighting ring. Three adults have been arrested because of this bust, and four children were taken into protective custody.

The cockfighting ring was found in the Robinwood community of Jefferson County. When Sheriff's deputies raided the home, agents found cockfighting paraphernalia, spurs, and steroids, as well as guns, marijuana, and ice - a potent form of meth - worth about $100,000 on the street.

Wendy Mayora, Aurelio Barriga, and Vicente Barriga were arrested, and all face numerous drug charges resulting in over $1 million bond.

Sheriff Mike Hale stated that the bust was the result of a strong partnership between law enforcement, and the community.
