County: Charleston

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Paul Jackson

A Charleston County judge set bail at $35,000 Tuesday for a 47-year-old North Charleston man charged with cruelty and ill treatment of animals. Police say Paul Jackson of Mint Avenue beat a dog to death in his yard with an extension cord and a weed-whacker on March 18.

According to police, Jackson saw a stray black dog in his yard at approximately 12:30 a.m. and began to beat the dog with an extension cord.
