Alleged: Joshua David McClellan
A Muncie man was arrested Saturday [Dec 20, 2008] afternoon after he allegedly stabbed his uncle in the back.
Joshua David McClellan, 32, was apprehended as he walked down South Walnut Street about 20 minutes after the attack.
The 53-year-old victim, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to Ball Memorial Hospital for treatment of a wound near his collarbone.
Officers said McClellan was not armed with a knife - or a shotgun that had been reported stolen from his uncle's home at 2013 S. Walnut St., where the stabbing occurred about 2:45 p.m.
McClellan was carrying a can of beer and a cell phone at the time of his arrest.
Before the arrest, police were also sent to the South Mulberry Street home of McClellan's father, who had reportedly been the subject of a threat.
McClellan has six charges pending against him in Muncie City Court: two counts of cruelty to an animal, filed in April 2007, and two counts each of driving while suspended and possession of paraphernalia, all filed last February.
He was convicted of possession of marijuana in 2005 and 1995.
