Farm owner, 61-year-old Grasiviano Ramos, was charged with a misdemeanor when as many as 1,000 gamecocks were confiscated from a barn-turned-cockfighting arena outside Plainfield. According to the Will County circuit clerk's office, Ramos pleaded guilty to the animal cruelty charge and is scheduled to be sentenced in July. He could face up to one year in prison.
