Deputies say a dog was shot when two masked men barged into his owner's home.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, the armed men came into the home, located in the 2400 block of N. Wellesley Drive in Bradenton, through an unlocked door Wednesday night.
The Rottweiler charged at the men, and they both fired two rounds at the dog, striking him once.
Deputies say the men took off, without stealing anything from the home.
The Rottweiler was taken to an emergency vet for treatment.
