County: Greene

Charges: Felony CTA
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Nathan Settles

A Greene County man is jailed on charges that he shot a dog in the face with an arrow as part of a dispute with the animal's owner.

Prosecutors have charged 28-year-old Nathan Settles of Kane with aggravated animal cruelty, a felony.

Authorities arrested Settles on Tuesday night after another resident of the village reported that Settles shot his pet German shepherd with a compound bow and arrow as part of a dispute between the two men.

The sheriff says the dog survived.

Settles is jailed in the Greene County Jail on Carrollton on $25,000 bond.

A court clerk says Settles does have an attorney and hasn't yet made a court appearance.
