A Hannibal woman faces charges after authorities got a tip about possible animal abuse.
Police said they found 10 dogs that were neglected and needed medical treatment at a house in the 2000 block of Hope Street.
Seven dogs were found in the back yard and three were in an enclosed rear porch. The animals were taken to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society shelter in Hannibal.
Rose M. White, 56, is charged with 10 counts of animal neglect, 10 counts of not having a city dog license and one count of having an excessive number of animals. A Dec. 15 court date has been set.
If convicted on all charges, she faces fines of almost $6,000 and up to five years in county jail.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
