Horse tangled in 15 foot lead line Buffalo, NY (US)Incident Date: Saturday, Nov 1, 2008 County: Erie
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Paul W. Curry
An animal cruelty charge was lodged against a Checkered Tavern Road resident after sheriff's deputies said they found the man's horse along a busy roadway tangled in a 15-foot-long lead line.
Deputies said the horse could have wandered onto the 55-mph road, creating a hazard to both itself and motorists, and also could have reached a nearby pond. The horse was found just after 3 p. m. Saturday off Checkered Tavern Road near Wheeler Road.
Deputies said they have investigated previous incidents involving the horse and have contacted local SPCA officials in an effort to have the horse seized. They charged Paul W. Curry, whose age was unavailable, with an animal cruelty count.
Curry is free pending a court appearance in the matter. References |
