The Humane Society of Missouri on Monday announced a reward for information in the severe abuse of a cat that had to be euthanized.
When police and Humane Society investigators responded to a report of an injured cat in St. Louis on Saturday afternoon they found a female cat they believe had been bound, beaten with a metal object and set on fire. The cat had cuts and bruises, burned skin and smoke damage to her lungs. The cat was euthanized because of the extent of her injuries

The Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward to each of the first three people who provide information leading to a conviction in the case. Authorities believe the cat was abused about midnight Friday in the 3100 block of Brantner Place and believe there were witnesses.
