A horse belonging to a Paso Robles man was stolen from the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster. Last weekend, Chad Krainock took his horse Scorpion to a professional steer wrestling competition. Sometime late in the rodeo Saturday night, the horse, who is valued at $30,000, vanished without a trace. 13-year old Scorpion is described as: -Quarter Horse Gelding -15.1 hands -1100 lbs. -Solid Bay with no white markings
Some tips for horse owners to prevent horses from being stolen include: be alert in unfamiliar places, lock stalls or surrounding areas if not in a familiar area, use freeze branding or tattoos for identification, have current papers on hand, and if the horse goes missing, report it ASAP.
