Pit bull puppy found starving Hampton, VA (US)Incident Date: Wednesday, Oct 15, 2008 County: Hampton City
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Markease Ladale Jones
An arrest warrant has been taken out against a Hampton dog owner after an emaciated pit bull puppy was found by animal control officers in a yard earlier this month.
Police spokeswoman Cpl. Allison Good confirmed warrants had been taken out against Markease Jones of Ervin Street for animal cruelty, non-vaccination and not having a dog license. Jones has not yet been arrested.
An affidavit for a search warrant filed at Hampton Circuit Court said animal control officers were called to Jones' address on October 15. They found an emaciated blue and white pit bull puppy "with obvious loss of muscle mass, vertebrae, rib and hip bones showing" inside a chained link fence. The search warrant allowed animal control officers to seize the puppy for veterinary treatment. References« VA State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Hampton City County, VA
