Cat mutilated, organs missing
San Antonio, TX (US)

Incident Date: Thursday, Oct 9, 2008
County: Bexar

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

For Susan Lewis, it's a shock she might never get over. Her cat, named Cash, was found dead in her neighbor's yard. It was mutilated, almost beyond words.

"It's really hard to explain to you how horrible my animal was tortured," Lewis said.

Someone cut Cash up in a Y-shape, like a human autopsy. His intestines were sitting on the ground next to him, but his heart, lungs and trachea were missing.

Strangely, though, there was no blood anywhere near the cat.

"Someone captured him, took him away, killed him, and then placed him back at the scene," Lewis said.

But even more disturbing is that Cash isn't the first cat in this neighborhood this has happened to. Not too long ago, it happened to Carrie Escobar's cat.

"There was four paws and there was intestines next to the paws. Her head was found two houses down with the collar right next to it," she said.

A third mutilated cat also has been found. It makes these women fear the cat killer is probably one of their neighbors.

"There's something really bad going on here," Lewis said.

Lewis obviously wants the person caught, but she also wants awareness that this very disturbed person is out there. She advises everybody to keep their pets indoors, especially this time of year.
