A Genoa woman was arrested Friday on charges of animal cruelty, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Ruth A. Janz, 70, 210 S. Genoa St., was arrested at 7:20 a.m. Friday on a warrant for animal cruelty, police said. Deputies became involved after employees at Malta Veterinary Hospital in Malta made a complaint against Janz, police said. Janz is being held at the DeKalb County jail pending bond, police said. Her dogs were taken into custody by the DeKalb County Animal Control.
