A 14-year-old male has been referred on juvenile charges after being accused of throwing a cat 25 feet, according to La Crosse police.

A woman reported seeing the teen throw the cat across the street in the 900 block of Seventh Street on Sept. 12, police said. Animal control took the cat, which had a non-life-threatening neck injury.
