County: Vigo

Disposition: Convicted

Defendant/Suspect: Steven Session

Case Updates: 1 update(s) available

The owner of seven pitbulls seized by the city has been cited. The dogs were taken from a backyard behind Dean Ave. last week.

Animal control officers issued Britany Trout 22 citations. They range from animal cruelty, to tieing the dogs up with chains, which is referred to as tethering.

The dogs were taken to the Terre Haute Humane Society.

Trout will be in court Friday.

Case Updates

Britany Trout was originally issued 22 citations by animal control for the abuse and neglect of seven pitbulls.

Friday, those charges were dropped in Terre Haute City Court since Trout was not the actual owner of the animals.

Instead, those citations were given to owner Steven Session. Session pleaded guilty to all 22 counts, as well as giving up his rights to the animals.

Session was also fined $75 a piece for two of the dogs. All of the animals were taken to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
