Dog locked in hot car Miami, FL (US)Incident Date: Sunday, Aug 3, 2008 County: Miami-Dade
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: woman
At the Sawgrass Mills mall, 12801 W. Sunrise Blvd., the temperature was 87 degrees about 2:45 p.m. Aug. 3 and a 6-week-old boxer dog was locked in a 1996 Ford Taurus with the windows open about one to two inches. When an police officer arrived, the dog was panting, although there was a water and food dish on the driver's-side floor board. The officer called in the Fire Department and a window was opened without causing damage to the car. The dog was taken to the substation and the owner was cited for cruelty to animals when she came to report the dog missing.
