County: IronDisposition: Alleged
Abuser names unreleased
A Humane Society rescue ranch is caring for a horse officials say was dragged behind a four-wheeler last week in Iron County.
The Humane Society said Friday a horse was dragged more than 200 feet on gravel and pavement near Ironton.
The 2-year-old male horse was treated by a veterinarian for exposed tissue, muscle and bone injuries on his side. It was to be brought to the Humane Society of Missouri's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, Mo., for extended care. Ranch officials say the horse is expected to survive.
They said a suspect is in custody, but the Iron County sheriff and prosecutor did not immediately return phone calls for comment.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
