A couple has been charged with failing to properly care for 26 horses on their property, operating a farm without a working well, failing to provide hay of nutritional value and allowing horses to eat, sleep and live in frozen piles of manure.

They were arrainged on 4 counts of animal cruelty and neglect, for the deaths of 4 horses that died during the winter.  2 other horses had to be euthanized.

The are free on bond.  If convicted they could be sentenced to 93 days in jail, a $1,00 fine and 200 hours of community service.
