Sharon Fiske of 704 Winemiller Lane, Billings Heights pleaded not guilty in District Court to felony charges of cruelty to animals.

On Feb 26 officers came to her home to serve her with an outstanding city warrant. Once inside, the officers found more than 175 cats, dogs, mice and other animals living in cages filled with feces. Some of the animals were free running through the house and the yard. Many animals were not licensed.

Most of the animals didn't have any food or water, many had eye, ear and skin problems. Fiske had numerous citations for not have a license for her animals and other violations owing more than $1,000 in fines. In lieu of paying the fines, she was in jail earning $50 a day toward her fines.

She has been charged with four felony counts of cruelty to animals, one misdemeanor count of owning an "offense barn" and one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals.
