Police in Palm Bay are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting in which a dog was shot in the face. The overnight shooting happened along the 800 block of Pyracantha Street in the northwest section of Palm Bay.

"We have no idea who did the shooting," Palm Bay police Sgt. Jim Richmond told Local 6 News partner Florida Today.

"They saw a guy with his dog and noticed that the dog had been shot in the face just under the eye," Richmond said.

Richmond had no other information on the dog's condition.
