Officers were dispatched to the east harbour wall at about 1:30 a. m. Sunday after a call about two men throwing a small cat into the water. Police arrived and saw the cat clinging to a chain. They called the city fire department, but the cat had disappeared below the surface of the water before firefighters arrived, an Owen Sound police news release said. Police believe the cat drowned.
