Cats shot with bb gun
Westminster, CO (US)

Incident Date: Sunday, Jul 20, 2008
County: Jefferson

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Cats in a Westminster neighborhood are under attack. Someone has been shooting them with a bee-bee gun.

The shootings have been happening in a neighborhood near 80th and Federal.

Stacey O'Bryan's cat, Lolita, was paralyzed in her back legs after being shot. O'Bryan later learned her pet wasn't the only neighborhood cat targeted.

"I said my cat got shot and then they said, 'Well our cat got shot too and now we have a litter of kittens that are without a mother;' and they're having to bottle feed all the kittens now because their cat was shot," O'Bryan said.

Veterinarians say Lolita may be able to fully recover.

If caught the suspect will face charges of animal cruelty. That could lead to jail time and a $1,000 fine.
