Weaver was arrested on an animal cruelty charge for shooting a pit bull.
 
Weaver told police the dog has attacked him several times and went into his yard.  A witness told police the dog did not enter Weavers yard.  And no prior complaints about the dog have been received by police.

The dog was treated for a shoulder wound and survived.
