Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

A cat has died after being shot for the second time on a Colchester estate. Nismo was put to sleep after a second operation to clear infection from the pellet wound proved unsuccessful.

Owners Craig Wright-Booth and Coral Jones, of Redwood Close, Greenstead, had taken him to Companion Care veterinary surgery last week with what they thought was a bite to his side.

But an examination revealed that he had been hit by an air rifle pellet that perforated his intestines and punctured a kidney.

An x-ray taken of his injuries showed that he had another pellet lodged in his shoulders from a previous shooting.

Miss Jones said: "Nismo went through so much over the last few days, and suffered terribly.

"As he was so weak from the shooting, he could not fight the infection and was peacefully put to sleep in our arms."
