Dog shot during drug-related home invasion
San Antonio, TX (US)

Incident Date: Thursday, Jul 10, 2008
County: Bexar

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Police are looking for two men they said kicked in an apartment door in a home invasion on the city's north side Thursday.

The pair broke into an apartment at a complex on Vista Valet and shot and killed a dog inside the apartment, police said.

Investigators said the man inside the apartment tried to fire back, but his gun jammed. Police said it appeared the break-in was drug-related.

"When they broke in, they were hollering, 'Where's the money? Where's the money?'" San Antonio Police Sgt. Tobe Whitley said. "(There was) quite a bit of paraphernalia in the apartment."

The two men left without taking anything and the couple inside the apartment weren't hurt, police said. The residents are not facing any charges since no drugs were found inside.
