County: Porter

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Ronda Olson

Porter County Sheriff's Patrolman Nick Starcevic found 5 horses and a goat that were "just skin and bones" at 807 North Country Road and 621 East County Rd.  2 of the ponies were lying on their sides.  One of the ponies died 10 minutes later.

The owner Ronda Olson was away but stated she had arranged for someone to take care of the animals.  The animals were taken by Animal Control.

Olson will be charged with either animal cruelty or neglect.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
