Dog shot during armed robbery

Alleged: Randolph Johnson

Hagerstown City Police have arrested and charged a man they believe shot a dog during a recent armed robbery. Randolph Johnson now faces armed robbery assault and animal abuse charges. The robbery happened early last month outside of a home on Wakefield Street.

Police said Johnson threatened three people with a gun, hit one of the victims, and demanded money.

When the victim's dog came to the door, Johnson shot him in the neck.

The dog was taken to the vet, and he's expected to be okay.
