Monkeys stolen from wild animal park

A teenager with a history of animal abuse has been sentenced to two to five years in prison for taking two monkeys from a wildlife compound.
Nineteen-year-old Michael Naylor, of Rices Landing, Greene County, was sentenced yesterday for burglary and related charges in Washington County Court.
The monkeys, named Gwen and Mona, were taken in November from Wild World of Animals in Washington County. They were returned several hours later.
Police say Mr. Naylor and another teen apparently thought marijuana was being grown at the compound.
Mr. Naylor apologized, but Judge John DiSalle was unmoved. He said Mr. Naylor has a history of animal abuse and was charged with drunken driving and exploding pipe bombs in mailboxes while on bail in the monkey case. References« PA State Animal Cruelty Map
