A Park County woman is being investigated for animal cruelty in a case involving several horses. The Park County Animal Control says Barbara Light owns the animals.
Animal cruelty investigators went to Light's home and found several of her horses in poor condition.
A veterinarian was called in to confirm the findings of the Park County Animal Control officers. That veterinarian agreed the animals were in bad shape and five of the horses were taken to the Dream Catcher Equine Rescue in Pueblo.
No word on whether the horses will be put up for adoption or later returned to Light as the investigation continues.
Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
