Puppy dragged, beaten and stomped on
Tucson, AZ (US)

County: Pima

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: man

A Tucson man was arrested for animal cruelty after he dragged, beaten and stomped on his five month old puppy when it wouldn't walk on hot pavement.

The puppy is being treated at Pima Animal Care Center. The Pit Bull puppy had scrapes from being dragged by it's leash and had burns so severe his pads were coming off. Veteranarian Dr. Lilley with P.A.C.C. says he will be placed in foster care and is expected to fully recover.

The pavement in Tucson in the summer months can reach temperatures up to 130 degrees. Vets say if it's too hot to touch, it's too hot for dogs to walk on.
