Cat found adandoned in sealed box
Sisters, OR (US)

Incident Date: Thursday, Jun 19, 2008
County: Deschutes

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

A cat found sealed in a box along Three Creeks Highway just outside of Sisters is doing well. It was taken to Bend Veterinary Clinic where employees have named him Adolph because of the little white mustache. He came to the clinic in surprisingly good condition. He was a little thin but his hair coat looked pretty good. "It wasn't in real bad shape, it was scared, it was a little bit dehydrated, and kind of, mildly shocky so we went ahead and treated it, kept it here overnight, made sure it was eating and drinking okay and then went ahead and neutered it," Said Doctor Byron Maas at the clinic.

Doctor Maas scanned him for a micro chip and has checked for reports of a missing cat but nothing turned up. He say he could have died out in the warm temperatures if the good Samaritan hadn't stopped to rescue him. Adolph is an adult male probably a bit over one year old. The doctor says it looked like he had been well cared for and wasn't afraid of humans just a little nervous when he was taken in. Now he's doing just fine, "He's doing really well, I think he's just happy that someone's taking care of him and that he's being loved so he's doing really well," said Maas.

Adolph is in good health, he's been checked and cleared of feline leukemia and AIDS.

If you're interested in adopting Adolph, you can call the Bend Veterinary Clinic at 541-382-0741.
