8 men face a total of 90 charges, including auto theft, fraud, burglary, criminal mischief and cruelty to animals for crimes that took place throughout Lake County, Crown Point, Cedar Lake, Lowell, Valparaiso and Hammond, Indiana for over a year and a half. The group called themselves the Crenshaw Mafia. The men bragged about their activities and threatened those who might turn them in.
All of the men range in age from 15 to 30 years old.
The group videotaped some of their crimes. At a farm outside Lowell some members of the group threw firecrackers at horses and also tried to get a dog belonging to one of them to attack a pig. References | Northwest Indiana News |
