Dog dragged behind bicycle, kicked Saco, ME (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Jun 10, 2008 County: York
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: John E. Beaudoin
A Saco man faces a fine and a court appearance after he was summonsed by Saco Police last week on charged of cruelty to animals.
According to Cpl. Mike Maxit, of the Saco Police Department, said John E. Beaudoin, 40, of Union Street is accused of dragging his daughter's dog behind his bicycle and then kicking the animal when it was unable to keep up.
According to Maxit, Beaudoin said he was trying to exercise the dog by having it run alongside the bicycle. But, Maxit said, witnesses said he was dragging the unwilling dog behind him.
The dog was returned to the care of Beaudoin's daughter, who is 19 and does not live with him.
Maxit did not know how much a fine would be if Beaudoin is found guilty. References |
