When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.

Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "People’s Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Case Updates: 5 update(s) available

Lt. Alan Borgal of the Animal Rescue League of Boston couldn't believe what he saw inside the house at 8 Thayer Circle. "I've been the state humane officer for 28 years, and it's the worst I've ever seen in there," said Borgal, who is in the league's law enforcement department.

Some animals were running free in the house; others were kept in cages. The basement was apparently used for breeding.

"They turned this whole house into a kennel," Borgal said. "This meets no kennel standard. There's no place any person or animal can stand where there is not filth. This is horrendous. Animals should not be kept in this. This is severe neglect and causing suffering to animals."

Scores of dogs and puppies were removed.

"There's approximately 90 dogs and puppies," Christopher Smalley, the league's communications director, said at the scene.

Police went to 8 Thayer Circle at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. They were summoned by the owner of the ranch-style house, who had checked the property.

The Animal Rescue League's law enforcement department obtained a search warrant, and the warrant was served at 4:42 p.m. Thursday.

Some of the workers donned hazardous-materials suits before entering the house, and most wore masks. An examining area was set up in the back yard so a team of veterinarians could check the animals before they were taken away. The process lasted for several hours.

Smalley said some of the dogs were taken by ambulance to the emergency departments at local animal hospitals. Others will be housed at league facilities, where they will undergo further evaluation, he said.

At least one mother with a litter of puppies was taken from the scene in an ambulance. On-site administering of medication was done for many of the dogs.

A town official said it is believed the house is leased to Linda Snow, the owner of Missy's Puppy Land on Park Street in Stoughton. She may have subleased the house to another individual, the official said.

The store was closed late Thursday afternoon. A telephone message left for Snow was not returned last night. The phone number was given on one of the Web sites Snow uses to advertise puppies.

Snow advertises on the Web sites Next Day Pets and Snow's Cockapoos. Listings included a Tiny Yorkie for $1,500 and cockapoos, laberdoodles, chows and a Maltese selling for several hundred dollars each.

The store was investigated last year by the Stoughton Board of Health. Board members were accompanied by an animal control officer and a representative of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Former Stoughton Health Inspector Mark Taylor said the store was never shut down during his 2-year tenure, but he received noise and odor complaints from neighboring homes and businesses.

"I walked through place twice and there were no health violations as far as humans, which is what I'm looking for," Taylor said, "but it smelled like Pine-Sol and seemed like they knew we were coming."

Rick Bagtaz of 869 Park St. said the store "smelled bad, like it wasn't clean."

Randolph officials and Thayer Circle residents were not aware that the house at 8 Thayer Circle was being used as a kennel.

"There hasn't been a dog registered there since 2004, according to the animal control officer's records," Randolph Town Clerk Brian Howard said.

Neighbors reported seeing a man and a woman at the house, and a few dogs.

"I know most of the neighbors here, but I don't know anything about him," said Victor Calheta, 22, who lives next door at 6 Thayer Circle. "I just didn't know anybody in that house at all. It was a little strange, but we never spoke at all."

Whether to seek criminal charges against the kennel operators has not been decided, Borgal said.

"It's an ongoing investigation," he said.

A condemnation notice from the town's board of health was posted on the front door of the house.

Assisting in the investigation is the Randolph Police Department and its animal control officer, Stephen Slavinsky, and the state Department of Agricultural Resources.

Thayer Circle is a quiet neighborhood of ranch houses off Chestnut Street.

Case Updates

Twice convicted of animal cruelty, former Stoughton puppy mill operator Linda Snow is facing more legal trouble.

Recently released from a Connecticut jail, she's now being held without bail in Massachusetts as she awaits two actions in Norfolk County Superior Court - a surrender hearing for probation violations, and a pretrial session on new charges of identity theft and perjury.

Snow, whose real name is Gloria Marriott, was scheduled to be in Superior Court for the surrender hearing today, but that and the pretrial session have been postponed. No new court date has been set. She is being held at the state women's prison in Framingham.

Marriott, 63, is now facing her second case for false identity. As Linda Snow, she was known as the owner of Missy's Puppy Land in Stoughton. More recently, she took the identity of Mary Howard in Mystic, Conn. The real Linda Snow died in infancy, and the real Mary Howard died as a child - both more than 50 years ago.

Last year in a Connecticut court Marriott admitted that she was born in Canada in 1948.

If convicted of the perjury charge, she could get up to 20 years in state prison.

As Linda Snow, she sold pets from Missy's Puppy Land in Stoughton. She was charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty in 2008, when police and animal welfare officers raided a rented Randolph house and discovered 89 dogs living there in filthy, fly-infested conditions.

An Animal Rescue League officer called those conditions "the worst I've ever seen."

Snow pleaded guilty and was placed on probation for four years, including three years of supervised probation. She moved to Mystic, Conn., and in early 2011 was charged with criminal impersonation as well as having five neglected puppies in a Groton house.

Her conviction and nine-month sentence there triggered the Norfolk County probation violation, since she had been ordered not to work for a pet-related business or otherwise be in contact with animal.

Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey's office lodged the identity theft and perjury charges it they learned of her false names from Connecticut. The office said she had misled the court about her identity in the 2008 case. She is also charged with intimidating a witness or person providing information for a criminal investigation.

The reunion took place in a South End parking lot: five dogs rescued from a filthy house in Randolph, the puppy of one, and some of the scores of people who came to their aid.

The dogs excitedly nuzzled each other, testing the limits of their leashes and the strength of their handlers.

"This is my holiday present for me," said Lt. Alan Borgal of the Animal Rescue League of Boston's law enforcement department.

In May, Borgal supervised the investigation that led to the rescuing of 89 dogs from a Thayer Circle home that was being used as an unlicensed dog-breeding kennel. Borgal said the animals were severely neglected.

Thanks to the care the animals have received since then, they and the 20 puppies born since then will soon be ready for adoption.

"It's a complete 180 from what they looked like then," said Jessica Wright, a veterinary technician at the Animal Rescue League's Boston shelter.

While the dogs didn't suffer from kennel-related diseases, they required treatment for dental and skin problems.

For the past six months, the dogs have been housed in shelters and a network of more than 60 foster homes.

"Everyone has been fantastic," said Melissa Tanguay, the league's assistant adoption manager, who arranged the housing. "They've been spending a lot of time with the dogs, getting them socialized and adjusted, housebroken and training them in obedience."

Kristine Kichline of the South End has been caring for Randolph dog No. 14, a cocker spaniel. Shy at first, the dog has gotten a lot friendlier

"She knows her tricks and knows how to behave," Kichline said. "She's smart and very attentive."

Puppies were being cared for at the Ashland Animal Shelter by Ashland Animal Control Officer Cheryl Rudolph.

"I didn't get much sleep" while taking care of them, Rudolph said.

Linda Snow, who rented the Thayer Circle and formerly ran Missy's Puppy Land in Stoughton, pleaded guilty in October to seven counts of animal cruelty and one count of destruction of property. She was sentenced to four years of probation.

Mark Zimmerman, also charged in the case, is still at large.

On Monday, Norfolk Superior Court Judge Paul Chernoff awarded legal custody of the animals to the Animal Rescue League, allowing them to be available for adoption.

Many are expected to be taken by their foster-care providers, said league spokeswoman Jennifer Wilcox.

It was the largest rescue and law-enforcement operation in the league's 109-year history. It has involved everyone at the Boston shelters, and an equal number of other people, including animal-care specialists, Randolph police officers and prosecutors.

"It was a real team effort," Borgal said.

The 56-year-old owner of a defunct Stoughton pet shop pleaded guilty Thursday in Norfolk Superior Court to seven counts of animal cruelty and one count of destruction of property.

Linda Snow, 56, who ran Missy's Puppyland on Route 27, was given three years of supervised probation and one year unsupervised.

Snow was leasing a home on Thayer Circle in Randolph when the landlord of that home arrived on May 28 and saw dozens of dogs inside and swarms of flies. The Randolph Health Inspector condemned the property home.

After acquiring a court-order to seize the animals within, Animal Rescue League officers took 89 dogs, including many newborn puppies, from the property. All were filthy, some were encased in mats of fecal material and hair, some were malnourished.

The property charge was brought against her for allowing animal filth to ruin the home.

Prosecutors from the Norfolk District Attorney's office requested that Snow be banned from any contact with animals, but Judge Paul Chernoff allowed her to keep two pets. They will have a microchip monitoring device implanted, will be subject to impromptu inspection and will be spayed or neutered.

She can have no other contact with companion animals and must stay away from the offices of the Animal Rescue League in Boston and the landlord of the damaged property.

The Animal Rescue League and a lawyer for the owner of the house were consulted before the plea.

Snow's co-defendant, Mark Zimmerman, has had a warrant out for his arrest since he defaulted on his Norfolk Superior Court arraignment in July.

The Stoughton pet shop owner linked to a house where about 90 dogs were found neglected and living in filth has been indicted by a grand jury on animal-cruelty charges.

Linda Snow, owner of Missy's Puppy Land on Park Street in Stoughton, faces seven counts of animal cruelty and a single count of malicious destruction of property.

Snow and Mark Zimmerman, who is associated with her and faces the same charges, were indicted by a Norfolk County Grand Jury on Wednesday, David Traub, spokesman for District Attorney William Keating said.

The pair was not arrested, but no information was available on where they are living. They are scheduled to be arraigned on Friday in Superior Court in Dedham.

The dogs were found May 28 in a house at 8 Thayer Circle in Randolph, which Snow was believed to have leased, and possibly subleased to another person, a town official said.

The owner of the ranch-style house had called the police, and the Animal Rescue League's law enforcement department obtained a search warrant.

The League's enforcement officer had called conditions in the house the worst he had ever seen.

Some animals were running free in the house. Others were kept in cages. The basement was apparently used for breeding.

Missy's Puppy Land had racked up a long list of complaints and citations.

From 2003-2006, the state Bureau of Animal Health recorded 35 formal complaints from customers and issued 55 citations against the shop for various violations including one instance of altering a health certificate.

Some customers complained that their dogs became sick and in some cases died soon after they bought them.

There were six complaints in the year and a half before the dogs were found in Randolph, according to Lisa Capone of the Bureau of Animal Health five in 2007, and one this year.

The dogs removed from the Randolph house are being kept at various public shelters including the League's three branches in Boston, Dedham and Brewster.

"The general public has been incredibly generous, donating online and sending checks in the $25,000 range to help care for the dogs, League Spokesperson Jennifer Wooliscroft.

PETCO provided for washing and grooming of many of the animals, she said.

It is still not certain when any of the dogs will be available for adoption.

This is the script from a story which aired on NECN in September, 2006.

JOYCE AND DANNY GOLDSMITH OF STOUGHTON, MASSACHUSETTS ARE LIFELONG DOG LOVERS. AND WHEN THEY SPOTTED "HALEY" AT A PET STORE...

{**SOT** 11:07} "IT WAS AN INSTANT LOVE AFFAIRI HAVE PIX ON THE TABLE OF HERSHE'S JUST A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE DOG AND THEY BECOME LIKE ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN." **}

JUST LIKE THAT, HALEY WAS PART OF THE GOLDSMITH FAMILY.

{**SOT** 11:07:} SHE DID ALL THE REGULAR PUPPY THINGSRUNNING AROUND, PLAYING WITH TOYS, EATING, GOING OUT. 11:07:50 "IT WAS JUST PERFECT. SO WE THOUGHT."

WHAT THE GOLDSMITHS DID-*NOT* KNOW IS THAT THE LIVELY LITTLE PUPPY THEY FELL IN LOVE WITH - WAS ACTUALLY VERY SICK. HER SYMPTOMS BEGAN TO SHOW IN A MATTER OF DAYS.

{**SOT** 11:08:50} "WHEN YOU WOULD TAKE HER FOR A WALK SHE WOULD WALK 20 FEET AND LIKE COLLAPSE. SHE COULDN'T MAKE IT FROM HERE TO OUR MAILBOX. 11:09:10

OVER SEVERAL WEEKS, THE DOG MADE MANY VISITS TO A VET. THE GOLDSMITHS ACCUMULATED MORE THAN TWO-THOUSAND DOLLARS IN MEDICAL BILLS.

{**SOT **} 11:08:36 "SHE HAD PNEUMONIA AND THAT'S WHY SHE WAS ON ANTIBIOTICS SHE WAS ON FOR A LONG TIME AND IT DIDN'T CLEAR THE PNEUMONIA OR SHE GOT A LITTLE BIT BETTER AND THEN SICK AGAIN. "

THREE MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE DOG, JOYCE RETURNED HOME FROM WORK ONE DAY TO FIND HALEY LYING IN A POOL OF BLOOD.

{**SOT**} 11:58:48 EVERYTHING WAS OUT ON THE FLOOR, ALL HER INSIDES. IT WAS BLOOD,
GUTS, EVERYTHING. " 11:15:10 I WAS JUST CRYING I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

THEIR SON, BARRY -- WHO HAS DOWN'S SYNDROME -- WOULD SOON BE ON HIS WAY HOME FROM SCHOOL.

{**SOT**} 11:58:48 "I HAD TO CLEAN IT UP BEFORE HE GOT OFF HIS SPECIAL NEEDS VAN. I BROUGHT HER IN HER BED TO THE VET. AND SHE DIED WITHIN A MINUTE OF BEING THERE. "

THE DOG HAD A COLLAPSED LUNG AND AN INTESTINAL ANEURISM.

{**SOT **} 11:16:06 "IT WAS EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL AND TRAUMATIC FOR EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE. WE WERE JUST BESIDE OURSELVES" 11:16:12

BARRY TOOK THE NEWS ESPECIALLY HARD.
{**SOT**} 11:39:25 "I'M NOT ANGRY AT ALL, BUT SOMETIMES IT HURTS ME A LOT.

THE GOLDSMITHS BOUGHT HALEY FROM A PET STORE CALLED "MISSY'S PUPPYLAND" IN STOUGHTON ... A SMALL, STAND-ALONE STORE SPECIALIZING IN PRICEY POODLE MIXES.
IN ADVERTISEMENTS, THE OWNER BOASTS ALL HER DOGS ARE VET CHECKED AND HEALTH GUARANTEED.
BUT NECN FOUND DOZENS OF UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS WHO SAY DOGS THEY BOUGHT FROM MISSY'S WERE SICK OR GENETICALLY DEFECTIVE.

IN JANUARY OF 2006, SHERRY BATTERTON BOUGHT HER DOG, LUCKY, FROM MISSY'S PUPPYLAND.
ACCORDING TO A STORE-ISSUED HEALTH CERTIFICATE-- THE DOG WAS *SUPPOSED* TO BE HEALTHY. BUT HOURS AFTER BRINGING HIM HOME - SHERRY NOTICED SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG.

{**SOT**} 11:55:30 " THE FIRST NIGHT HE WAS LAYING THERE, AND HE KEPT COUGHING ALL NIGHT LONGVERY LETHARGIC. NOT LIKE A PUPPYHE WOULD TRY TO RUN AROUND THEN GOT SICK. HE WAS JUST VERY VERY TIRED. HE LOOKED REALLY SICK."

DAYS LATER, THE DOG WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE PNEUMONIA AND GIVEN A 50 PERCENT CHANCE OF SURVIVAL. SHERRY SPENT MORE THAN 16-HUNDRED DOLLARS TO SAVE HIM.

{**SOT**} 11:47:05 GETTING A PUPPY IS SUPPOSED TO BE A HAPPY OCCASION ..IT WAS JUST AWFUL.

THE LANNONS SHARE A SIMILAR STORY.
THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW PHOTOS THEY HAVE OF THEIR PUPPY, DOLCHE. THE MALTESE POODLE MIX WAS A SURPRISE EASTER GIFT FOR THE CHILDREN. THE DOG DIED LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER SHE WAS BROUGHT HOME.

{**SOT W/DAUGHTER**} 15:41:04 " MOM TOLD ME SOMETHING HAPPENEDWHAT DID SHE DIE? MOMMA SAID YES, I TRIED TO HOLD IT BACK BUT I JUST BURST INTO TEARSAND JUST REALLY MISSED DOLCHE. "
15:32:30 "I'M NOT THE FIRST PERSON THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE GOTTON SICK DOGS OR DOGS HAVE DIED ON THEM OR COME NEAR TO DEATH AND THEY HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN VET BILLS" " 115851

WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS, HOW WAS MISSY'S PUPPYLAND STILL IN BUSINESS?
NECN BEGAN ITS INVESTIGATION WITH THE BUREAU OF ANIMAL HEALTHAN ARM OF THE MASSACHUSETTS AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT-- CHARGED WITH LICENSING AND INSPECTING PET STORES.
WE OBTAINED RECORDS SHOWING THE STATE HAS A *LONG* HISTORY WITH MISSY'S.

{**GRAPHIC**}
BETWEEN 2003 AND 2006 THE BUREAU LOGGED MORE THAN 35 FORMAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE STORE.
ONE COMPLAINT, DATED JULY 2002:
"I CAN ATTEST TO THE DREADFUL CONDITIONS, SICKLY PUPPIES CRAMMED INTO INADEQUATE SPACING. THESE PUPPIES ARE VISABLY IN FRAGILE AND AILING HEALTHANIMAL ABUSE AND CRUELTY CONTINUES, SEEMINGLY WITH YOUR DEPARTMENT'S KNOWLEDGE. "

IN THE PAST THREE YEARS, THE STATE CITED MISSY'S AT LEAST 55 TIMES FOR VIOLATING PET SHOP REGULATIONS.

{**NATS**}
MAY 2003- INSPECTORS RAISE CONCERN ABOUT THIS KENNEL IN MISSY'S BACK PARKING LOT. QUOTE: "THE SHELTER IS NOT ADEQUATE AND MAY PRESENT A CRUELTY ISSUE"

AUGUST 2004 - STATE OFFICIALS REPORT "EXTREMELY UNSANITARY CONDITIONS" AND NOTE THAT TWO DOGS COULD NOT STAND OR SIT WITHOUT THEIR HEADS HITTING THE TOP OF THE CAGE. SEVERAL DOGS DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO FOOD AND WATER. CAGES, OVERCROWDED AND CAKED WITH FUR.

MAY 2005 - MISSY'S IS CITED FOR, AMONG OTHER VIOLATIONS, ALTERING A HEALTH CERTIFICATE.

YET EACH YEAR, THE STATE *RENEWED* MISSY'S PET STORE LICENSE.

BRAD MITCHELL DIRECTS THE BUREAU'S TEAM OF INSPECTORS.

{**SOT**} 9:26:07 - IS IT A SERIOUS OFFENSE TO FORGE A HEALTH CERTIFICATE? yes HOW SERIOUS? we would refer it to the attorney general's offices. 9:29:15 - HAVE YOU EVER FORWARDED A CASE TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL? i don't believe so, no.

MITCHELL WOULD NOT COMMENT SPECIFICALLY ON MISSY'S BECAUSE OF THE BUREAU'S ONGOING INVESTIGATION. BUT WE ASKED IN GENERAL:
{**SOT**} 9:36:01 WHAT WOULD A STORE HAVE TO DO IN ORDER FOR THE STATE TO SHUT IT DOWN?
its not one thing, its very quantitative vs qualitative but the bottom line is if there is an immediate risk to animal health we would immediately shut it down.

MISSY'S IS STILL OPEN.
USING HIDDEN CAMERAS, WE WENT INSIDE THE STORE TO GET A FIRST HAND LOOK.
SOME OF THE DOGS ON THE SALES FLOOR WERE DIRTY, SKINNY, AND APPEARED UNUSUALLY LETHARGIC.
CONCERNED ABOUT THIS PUPPY, WE CALLED THE SALES CLERK TO HELP WAKE HIM UP.

BUT WERE PUPPIES AT MISSY'S PUPPYLAND SICK?
WE DECIDED TO BUY ONE ~ A FEMALE PAPPILON.
WHEN WE WENT TO PICK OUR DOG UP THE STORE MANAGER TOLD US WE COULDN'T TAKE HER HOME FOR AT LEAST A WEEK BECAUSE SHE WAS GETTING OVER A COLD.
SO WE PICKED OUT A DIFFERENT PUPPY , THIS TIME A BOSTON TERRIER.
WE TOOK HER TO DR. RON BUFFMAN OF LLOYD'S ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN BROCKTON .
THE DOG HAD NO PARASITES, WORMS, OR INFECTIONS. BUT SHE WAS UNDERWEIGHT.

23:00:06 {**SOT/VET**} the other big concern i have with this pup is her eyes, her corneas.she's got some opacities in her cornias especially the left one that should propably be evaluated by an optimologist.

THE DOG'S STORE ISSUED HEALTH CERTIFICATE MADE NO MENTION OF THE PROBLEM.
23:10:57 {**SOT**} "SHOULD THE VET THAT CHECKED OUT THIS DOG HAVE PICKED UP ON THAT .... i don't know why he didn't pick on the opasities in the eye...i tell you, that should have been discussed with the owner"

BUT IT WAS-NOT.
NEITHER WAS A GENETIC PROBLEM WITH THE DOG'S TAIL.
23:00:35{**SOT/VET*} she has a corkscrew tail, i don't know if you can see it very well, too much twist too it so to speak is why they call it a corkscrew tail. the problem with this will be in the future. i can guarantee this will get infected and be a chronic problem and the only cure is surgical removal.

WHY WEREN'T THESE PROBLEMS NOTED ON THE HEALTH CERTIFICATE?
IT RAISED THE QUESTION...DO THE DOGS AT MISSY'S PUPPYLAND RECEIVE PROPER VETERINARY CARE BEFORE THEY ARE SOLD ?

{**SOT**} I have to make a statement about missy's, we've seen a few puppies and fortunately saved them all , but we've had some severely sick puppies from missy's some of them had pneumonia, severe pneumoniathey've had to come in our hospitalone of them was here for a week. the dog had to be on iv fluids, iv antibiotisextensive care for this puppy to save it. we did get throughbut we've seen quite a few cases of resp problems from missy'sand we've just seen bad health in general it seems. "
23:06:19 SO DO YOU FEEL THERE IS A DISPROPORTIONATE NUMBER OF SICK PUPS COMING FROM MISSY'S COMPARED TO THE OTHER PET STORES? i would definitealy say there is a higher proportion.

NECN MADE REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO INTERVIEW THE OWNER OF MISSY'S PUPPYLAND, STOUGHTON RESIDENT LINDA SNOW.
{**nats**}
SHE REFUSED TO GO ON CAMERA. BUT SHE DID SPEAK TO US ON THE PHONE SAYING, IN PART: QUOTE - "EVERYTHING IS ABSOLUTELY FINE . THERE ARE NO SICK ANIMALS IN THE STORE ...YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SELL THOUSANDS OF DOGS AND HAVE SOME THINGS HAPPEN."

BUT THIS FORMER MISSY'S PUPPYLAND EMPLOYEE, WHO ASKED NOT TO BE IDENTIFIED, SAYS CUSTOMERS FREQUENTLY RETURNED TO COMPLAIN.
{**SOT**} 30:09 HOW MANY CUSTOMERS WOULD COME BACK? it happened a lot , kennel cough or something. IF YOU HAD TO GUESS HOW MANY ....DOZENS ?....a lot...a lot of the dogs would come back sick.

THE EMPLOYEE ALSO REMEMBERS A STRONG ODOR IN THE STORE.

26:51 {**SOT**} "customers would come in and say "oh it smells, hold their noses, walk around and just leave"
Q: HAVE YOU BEEN IN OTHER PET STORES, DON'T ALL PET STORES SMELL? "not as bad as this one"

STOUGHTON ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER KRISTEN ANDERSON SAYS SHE DEALS WITH COMPLAINTS ABOUT MISSY'S PUPPYLAND AN AVERAGE ONCE A WEEK.

{**SOT**} 8:53:48 "we've dealt with them numerous times in the past. myself and mspca law enforcement have been down there numerous times. we have in the past confiscated numerous dogs from the area so we are very familiar with them and they are very familiar with us. "

AS RECENTLY AS THIS MONTH, ANDERSON CONFISCATED TWO *CHOWS* FROM MISSY'S AFTER NOTICING THEIR EARS HAD OPEN WOUNDS FROM UNTREATED INSECT BITES.

{**SOT**} 8:52:48 its definitely neglect and its cruel as one of the dogs is pregnant she is due anyday and she should have been in better condition.

BUT TWO DAYS LATER, STATE OFFICIALS TOLD ANDERSON TO RETURN THE CHOWS TO MISSY'S BECAUSE THEY WERE *NOT* IN *IMMEDIATE* DANGER.
ANDERSON SAYS IF SHE HAD THE AUTHORITY TO PULL MISSY'S PET STORE LICENSE SHE WOULD.

{**standup**} "This isn't the first pet shop linda snow has operated. turns out she once owned a store in the city of lynn. city officials there, based on a technicality, managed to shut her down after state officials found numerous sick dogs and overcrowding."

EARLIER THIS SUMMER, SNOW APPLIED FOR A SEPERATE 50 DOG KENNEL LICENSE TO HOUSE DOGS AT THIS PROPERTY IN RAYNHAM, MASSACHUSETTS. TOWN OFFICIALS DENIED THE REQUEST.
BUT SOME MISSY'S PUPPYLAND CUSTOMERS SAY THE STATE NEEDS TO TAKE STRONG ACTION BEFORE PROBLEMS AT MISSY'S PUPPYLAND GET WORSE.
{**SOT**} 11:58:51 "i really think that places like her and especially her need to be shut down because its unfair to the animals. they really don't care, they really don't care. "
(or)
15:35 ...I believe that too often there have been sick dogs and feeling hurt and dogs hurt.

{**SOT FAM. #1**} 12:02:i don't know why or how the law is on her side. it needs to be changed. animals are not toasters they are living beings and they shouldn't be mis-treated and its just horrifying to me. i cried so much about this that it doesn't seem right and she's getting away with what she is doing.

DR. BUFFMAN AGREES.
23:09:14 {**SOT**} WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN TO MISSY'S... "i think they should be shut down to be honest "

BUT UNTIL THE STATE TAKES STRONG ACTION, DANNY GOLDSMITH IS LEFT WITH ONLY HIS ADVICE TO SHARE ... FOR THOSE CONSIDERING A DOG FROM MISSY'S PUPPYLAND.
11:19:50 i wouldn't shop there, i wouldn't tell anyone to shop there and its up to people to make a decision we actually learned a lesson the hard way and its unfortunate. 11:20: 15
