Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to a shots fired call and found a dog shot in the mouth on Friday morning.

A witness told officers two people ran from the scene on Mabel Street just after 1:00 Friday morning.

Officers tracked them down at a house on Florence Street where they found the gun lying in the driveway.

At this point no arrests have been made. The dog didn't suffer any major injuries.
