Dog-fighting
Bonita Springs, FL (US)

Incident Date: Friday, May 2, 2008
County: Lee

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged:
» Michael Anthony Molano
» Dallas Stuart MacDonald

Two Bonita Springs men are facing charges for fighting their pit bulls. Lee County deputies say they caught them in the act.

According to sheriff's reports, Deputy Burgman was driving his marked patrol unit on Token Court when he heard yelling and cheering coming from one of the homes.

He found a group of at least seven people standing in a circle, watching two dogs, as he is quoted, "viciously fighting". The deputy say the group was laughing and egging the animals on, "as they were tearing into each others flesh".

When he approached, the owners of the dogs pulled them away from each other while the other people ran from the house.

The dogs, one identified as a female named "Jaws" was bleeding from the face and neck area. The other female pit bull, identified as "Roxy" had several open wounds and scratches.

The deputy says the men at no time tried to stop their animals from fighting, so both were taken into custody.

Michael Anthony Molano and Dallas Stuart MacDonald are now facing charges for fighting their dogs and failing to register and vaccinate them as required by the county.

The animals were taken to Lee County Animal Services to be treated.
