A Bundaberg man in south-east Queensland, who has pleaded guilty to cutting the head off a kitten, will be sentenced later this week.
Police have accused Brenton Adrian Hodgson, 38, of decapitating the kitten and putting it in a freezer.
Hodgson has pleaded guilty to one charge of animal cruelty, but says he cut off the kitten's head to put it out of its misery after he accidentally stepped on it.
Mr Hodgeson's defence lawyer told the court he has the psychiatric condition Asperger's syndrome.
The lawyer told the court he had also been affected by witnessing the death of his younger brother in a motorcycle accident.
Magistrate Neil Lavaring adjourned the matter for sentencing later in the week. References |
