Locked dog in hot car for 6 hours, resulting in death
Albany, NY (US)

Incident Date: Sunday, May 11, 2003
County: Albany

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Mac Snyder

A Nassau man has been arrested for animal cruelty after abandoning his dog at the Tulip Festival. Albany public safety officials said Mac Snyder locked his dog inside his car for six hours. Authorities said the dog died from heat exposure.

Snyder was asked to remove his pitbull from the park during the festival. He was then advised not to leave him in his car because of the warm weather.

Snyder is being held at the Albany County Jail without bail.
