A New Rochelle woman was arrested on charges she threw her roommate's ferret out a fourth-floor window after an argument.

The ferret was so badly injured it had to be put to death, police said.

Regina Bibona is charged with cruelty to animals. Police Capt. Joseph Schaller said the 38-year-old woman is also charged with criminal mischief for breaking the roommate's eyeglasses and throwing them into a fish tank the night before throwing the ferret out the window.

Bibona is awaiting arraignment. No lawyer was listed for her at City Court. She has no telephone listing.

Schaller said he did not know the nature of the dispute.
