The Collier County Sheriff's Office arrested two Golden Gate Estates men after deputies discovered evidence of rooster fighting on their property.

Antonio Castaneda, 27, and Arturo Garcia, 24, were charged with animal cruelty and using animals to bait or fight one another.

Deputies found a circular ring, which appeared to be used for rooster fighting with a dead rooster nearby. They also found sparring talons, vitamins and other items that are used for animal fighting. Several chickens were in cages and some roamed free outside the home. One chicken looked ill or injured.

Collier County Domestic Animal Services is investigating as well.
