A Birmingham man faces eight charges of animal cruelty for keeping malnourished horses.

Christopher Hall, 36, was arrested on Monday and is being held at the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham on bonds totaling $2,700.

Investigators said Hall kept the horses on USX property in Bessemer.

Out of the twelve horses in his care, eight were malnourished.

They've been turned over to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society for care.
