Farmed animals neglected in trailer, two die

Deputies responded to an animal cruelty call involving farm animals in the 4000 block of 34th Avenue East Saturday morning, according to Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A stock trailer full of goats and pigs was found at 8:45 a.m., according to an incident report. An anonymous caller contacted authorities stating the animals sounded like they were in distress.

When investigators found the animals, two of the pigs were dead. Arrangements were made to remove the animals and the investigation is continuing.
