Two people are suspected of shooting and abandoning a pit bull in Vallejo early Tuesday, police reported. Police were called to the area of Sims and Wilson Avenues around 1:40 a.m. and found a pit bull suffering from a gunshot wound to the back, police said.

Police reported a caller said he heard a gun shot, saw the dog limping, and then saw a black man and white woman get into a vehicle and drive off southbound on Mare Island Way.
