An Orchard Park family is looking for answers tonight after someone shot their dog with a high-powered air rifle.

Brandon Sparks and his wife let their 4-year old Pit Bull outside Thursday morning.

She was in some woods next door to their home. Spark's wife heard a shot.

They saw their dog go down, but didn't see anyone in the area.

Doctors say the pellet entered the right side of the dogs body and become lodged in the left side of her abdomen.

She underwent surgery yesterday.

Orchard Park Police are investigating. The SPCA of Erie County is also planning to launch its own investigation.
