A cat was apparently hit with an arrow somewhere near Liberty Road outside Sweet Home. A man called the sheriff's office Wednesday to report the injury. He said the animal didn't belong to him but it had been hanging out with his barn cats.

The wound appeared superficial, according to a deputy's report, and the caller was going to try to help the cat and find its owner.
