Cat's head sawed off San Antonio, TX (US)Incident Date: Friday, Jun 1, 2007 County: Bexar
Disposition: Not Charged
Person of Interest: Austin George Patterson
News 4 WOAI has learned a man police arrested for mutilating cats may be charged with additional crimes stemming from other allegations of animal torture.
News 4 WOAI's Aubrey Mika obtained a copy of an incident report from earlier this summer. In that report, Austin Patterson's former roommate claimed he came home one night and found Austin bent over the bathtub, wearing gloves and sawing off the head of a cat. His roommate later kicked him out. "That's pretty gross. I think somebody to do that, it's just not right," said Jeremy Luther, who lives nearby.
The roommate also says he would often see dead cats hanging from trees right outside their apartment, and noticed many of his shoe laces were missing. "It really surprises me that there was somebody here that would actually do something like that," said Matt Beardslee, who lives in the apartment complex. People who still live in Hunter's Glen apartments, say they remember seeing signs posted around the complex. "Lost cat, missing, if anybody finds it...call this number.," said Luther.
Something else Austin's roommate says he saw this past summer three cat tongues found in Austin's room. So Austin Patterson faces even more accusations of animal cruelty, not just in Universal City, but now in San Antonio, too.
"I couldn't believe it when I saw it on the t.v. last night...let alone to know he lived here...it's scary," said Matt Beardslee.
According to the report., Austin would always talk about how he despised cats and wanted them all dead. Now Universal City police are working with the San Antonio Police Department and Animal Care Services looking into these accusations References« TX State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Bexar County, TX
