Two children were arrested and bailed after a lamb was drowned in a feeding trough, police said. Officers believe the lamb was injured in a violent attack before it was drowned.
The two were arrested yesterday on suspicion of animal cruelty and were released on police bail pending further inquiries. Two younger boys were also interviewed and issued with warnings, North Wales Police said. The lamb was found in a feeding trough in fields off Peulwys Lane, Old Colwyn, on February 9, 2008. North Wales Police said, "The lamb is believed to have been stoned and kicked before drowning.
"An 11-year- old boy and 14-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty. Both have been released on police bail pending further inquiries. "A nine-year-old boy and a seven-year-old boy were interviewed and issued with a yellow card warning each. A joint investigation between North Wales Police and the RSPCA is under way."
The police said, "We want everyone involved prosecuted and urge anyone with information to contact us immediately." References
