8 roosters seized from cockfighting ring

The Sacramento Police Department discovered and busted up a cockfighting ring over the weekend.

Nine people were cited for animal cruelty, and another man, John Treese, is being charged with permitting animals to fight. Police say they rescued eight roosters from the ring.

Police say that this is the fifth case of this type of cruelty that they've seen in six months.
